Call for Dancers and Singers! During this 5-week Glee class series, the instructor/choreographer and vocal coach will teach students two Glee numbers. At the end of the series, students are offered an informal performance opportunity at the BTI studio. Drop-ins not permitted. Students must enroll in the entire series and may not miss more than one class in order to participate in the performance. Cost: $100. Glee Dance is a fun class that fuses jazz, broadway jazz and modern dance to prepare you to learn exciting choreographies inspired by the TV show Glee. For the avoidance of doubt, BTI is in no way affiliated with the television production Glee or its production company. Dance shoes or socks are required, No street shoes are allowed in the studio. Ballet Basics Introductory Series is a 5 week 75-minute class series for students who have no prior or beginning ballet experience. Students will be introduced to the structure of a ballet class, basic ballet vocabulary, alignment and posture. Throughout this series, students will focus on building balance, strength, coordination and poise. Students must enroll for the entire five-week series, as classes will progress from one week to the next. Ballet shoes preferred, but socks are acceptable.

Enroll in the entire series. (Enroll under the 'SERIES' tab). Introduction to Middle Eastern Dance Part 1. A class of traditional belly dance with emphasis on posture, technique, styling and grace. Learn basic isolations, combinations, traveling steps, and shimmies all coordinated with graceful hand movements to rhythms and melodies of Middle Eastern music.Week 1- Learn traveling step, hip circle undulation, hip accent, and Egyptian shimmy. Introduction to rhythm and keeping on beat. Week 2- Review! Add shoulder shimmies, and hip drops. Start moving across the floor with new traveling step and start choreography. Week 3- Review! Learn Saidi Rhythm to integrate into dance. Introduce camel undulations, shimmy variations and basic turn across the floor. Continue choreography. Week 4- Review Week! Continue Choreography. Using everything from R&B, old school, pop, and today’s hip-hop, this class covers original elements of hip hop, such as locking, popping, and footwork. This class focuses on building technical skills, freestyle ability, and mastering hip-hop choreography. Students will be challenged to improve their coordination, musicality, and groove. This class incorporates basic dance vocabulary, placement and movement in a specific technique. It's excellent for students returning to dance after an extended absence as well as the student new to dance or this dance style.

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art disguised as a dance and performed to musical instruments and traditional Brazilian songs. It is comprised of specific offensive and defensive movements and, unlike in other martial arts, the participant is constantly in motion because of the basic movement, the ginga. The movements also consist of positions on the ground, kicks, sweeps and acrobatics. No prior experience is necessary. Beginners should wear loose fitting clothing and light footwear; advanced capoeiristas should wear traditional white capoeira pants and a t-shirt.

You always wanted to Dance tango, you took some classes but didn't learn much? This goal oriented series is for you, this course will initiate students into the core/fundamental principles and concepts in improvised Argentine Tango. It will prepare them for the next level of training ("Close Embrace") which will equip them for the social dance floor. Character shoes recommended. 6 week class Curriculum: Week 1. The tango walk. The concept and experience of lead and follow. Two bodies become one. Introduction and exploration of "Parallel System". Week 2. The famous "Ocho". It's basis, construction and technique. Introduction and exploration of movements in "Cross system". Week 3. The "Molinete". An introduction to the foundational structure of Tango's matrix. Week 4. Skills of improvising. Using techniques learned to date to improvise ways in and out of the molinete in both Parallel and Cross Systems. Week 5. "Calasitas". Looking at circles, circumferences and triangles in Tango. This class will introduce a more complicated concept in Tango (in preparation for "Level two"). Moving with your partner verses protecting your partner from movement. Week 6. Introduction to "Voleos". An Interruption of a movement. This class will introduce a more complicated concept in Tango (in preparation for "Level two").
