Outreach

Our mission is fueled by the belief that dance and music have the ability to reach across
geographic, linguistic and cultural borders, inspiring each other, advancing mutual
understanding among their communities, and in some cases, transcending political and social
ills by exposing our youth to dance and music and promote participation in the performing
arts as a deterrence to violence and other anti-social behavior.

This program partners with Cultural attachés of The U.S Embassies, other outreach
organizations, non-profit agencies, and youth development entities, to ensure that youths in
Latin American countries have access to free long-term dance programs, dance workshops
and seminars - focusing on modern dance techniques, leadership, and choreography.

The majority of these youths come from underserved backgrounds and neighborhoods, and
the BTI community outreach program teaches them how to use dance as an alternative to
violence or drugs. The company is committed to inspiring a new generation of dancers and
arts patrons, and hopes to empower youths by teaching them the value of dance as a means
of expression. Last year BTI performed in front of 10,000 students, and it's instructors
taught in more than 6 locations in Latin America.

This exchange process enriches the artists, youth, and the entire community, all of whom
gain new sources for creative exploration. In addition, it provides dynamic exchange and
provides exposure to a broad range of cultures. By exposing the youth to art and all of its
virtues, the program hopes to inspire young people to enroll in art activities as well as giving
the opportunity to less affluent audiences to enjoy a full dance and music production of
international quality at low cost in their own city.
